Essentials to take to your dorm

🎒 What should you take with you to your dorm?

A practical guide to getting started

👕 Clothes and accessories As well as clothes, pack the bag with:

  • a bathrobe,
  • slippers or flip-flops (useful for the shower),
  • clothes hangers (you can never have enough of them).

🍽️ Kitchen – the bare minimum If you’re planning to cook something:

  • a pot and a frying pan,
  • a basic set of dishes: a mug, a plate, a bowl, cutlery,
  • a chopping board, a knife,
  • dishwashing liquid and a sponge.

🧊 Fridge: there are no fridges in the rooms at Dormitory I, so if you can’t imagine life without one, you’ll need to sort one out yourself.

🛁 Bathroom

  • towels,
  • your own cosmetics and toiletries.

🛏️ Bedyou don’t need to bring your own bed linen. The room rate includes:

  • a pillow,
  • a blanket,
  • a set of bed linen.

🧹 Cleaning and laundry

  • cleaning products,
  • a broom or a small vacuum cleaner,
  • laundry detergent,
  • a clothes horse.

🔌 Electronics, a power extension lead that allows you to connect a phone, laptop, lamp, etc. at the same time.

🏠 Homely atmosphere Bring something that will make you feel right at home :

  • favourite blanket,
  • poster,
  • mug,
  • book,
  • photo frame,

Finally: it all depends on your needs. Think about what you use on a daily basis at home.

However, remember that space in a student room is limited, so sometimes less is more.

Good luck with your studies!
